
The Intag valley
The Intag valley is a natural reservation which permits a quiet special acess to his exotic and unique wildlife Ecuadors to his visitors. The zone extends from the Andes to the coast of Esmeraldas and accomodates in fact of the great difference in altitude many different types of landscapes and with this a really divers flora and fauna. The subtropical zone is located in the south of the province Imbabura, approx. 39km in the east of Cotacachi.

Climate
In the valley is dominating a mild climate with temperature between 50°F and 77°F.
Fauna
Some of the exotic animals which you can observe in the zone are jaguar, spectacled bears, game, bunnies, pacas, agouti, ocelots, little monkeys, snakes and bird like toucans and hummingbirds.
Flora
The climate which predominates in the zone of Intag favours the growth of wild subtropical plants like for example the sugarcane, which El clima que predomina en la zona favorece la producción de especies propias de regiones bajas y selváticas, como la caña de azúcar que conlleva la elaboración de aguardiente y panela, el cabuyo y la pitahaya, el banano, los cereales, tubérculos, el maní, arroz de castilla y una abundante producción de frutales.
