Talleres Del Gran Valle
Located on the foot of the environmental reservation Cotacachi-Cayapas, in the sub-tropical zone of the canton Cotacachi, the cooperative Talleres del Gran Valle forms the development of the regional economy in the valley Manduriacos.
The nonprofit organization founded in the year 1998, in fact of an impulse of local leaders and with the credo not to achieve use of one´s own bundels organizations and organised groups of women and men, which are operting in the production of food, arts and crafts and in the ecoturism. By the collaboration with 120 families and the partake in the economic advantages we improve the economic situation directly in the region.
Well known for the wide experience in projects of national and international cooperation and partnership, the CTGV contribute to improve the livingconditions of the population by enforcing of the existing civil organisations and the lived democracy, likewise the development of local abilities for a collective progress accordable with the nature, the gender equity, multiculturality and the critical thinking.
ASOCIATION ARTISANAL MANDUSOL
In 2010 the organisation Corporación Talleres del Gran Valle began to take his basic manual activities.
As a part of the solidary the asociation artisanal mandusol (decorated hand-crafted union mandusol) devotes itself to the farming done by hand, the ecoturism and the fairtrade.
With important services like shrink-wrapping and exporting beans from type Frèjol alegre, a unique species in ecuador, the hostel Hormiga Verde or the distibution of meat, fish and milk goods to local markets in the surroudings.
The work includes craftwomen/craftmen and operating farmers from mainly 5 different communes in the region Manduriacos.
FARMER GROUP MANDURIACOS
40 farmers of beans and maize in the sector
La Armenia - San Roque and abutters cultivate in collective planified annual shedule their fields and share the agricultural machines for improving the working conditions for all in the same way.
ASOCIATION OF FARMERS AND GRAZIERS CHALGUAYACO ALTO
In the river basins of the rivers Chalguayacu and Junín 17 families decided for the agricultural production. They dispose of cooling tanks for the milk storrage and they provide the national market.
As well they are part of the project protection forest El Chontal which works with the aim to protect and conservate the environment.
GROUP REBIRTH (grupo renacer)
Skilled crafts women from the commune San José de Magdalena advanced as the only once in all of ecuador to give a significance to the fibers of the loofaah plant. Shower sponges of every kind and size, sandals, christmas jewelry, articles for the office are parts of the production range which is processed and exported with high quality or also for at home.
ASOCIATION FIBERS FROM EL PARAÍSO
Families from the commune El Paraíso ply a workshop in which they make fashion jewelry of the Tagua plant.
Also they produce baskets out of straw and other natural fibers. The goods certainly are produced for selling them on the national market and in the association of the Fairtrade.
ASOCIATION OF WOMEN FLOWER OF PAMBIL
In Cielo Verde, the showpiece at the river Manduriacos and with the beach of the toucans, a women group decided to do ecoturism to give more quality at life.
GROUP OF COLLECTIVE LEADERS
Women and men known for their ample experience in conducting and organizing impulsed the foundation of the Cooperative Talleres Del Gran Valle.
Due to their experience and world view they always work for the implementation of their ideals such as the receipt and protection of nature or the self-dependence and independence.
YOUTH GROUP Yoghurt del Bueno
With the production of natural yoghurt pure out of milk and fruits with origin from the region this group of young women proves that it is possible to create a own independ work area for making them more autonomous and improving the perspectives for their families.
HOUSE OF CHILDHOOD
Since his foundation in 2002 the house of childhood has contributed to improve the standard of education of more than 1.950 children, young men and adults of 12 rural communities by e.g. further education with support of institutions and national and international ONGs.
